How to join the Copenhagen Pride parade

Choose your unit

Three ways to take part. The choice decides how many of you there can be, how much kit comes along, and what it costs. Rule of thumb: under 30 people, the cargo bike is usually enough. Over 30, you need a truck.

Walking group

No vehicle, no hire. Suits groups who would rather walk than ride.

Cargo bike

For smaller groups and narrow routes. One bike carries sound, one carries supplies — never the same bike. We usually send one of each.

For larger groups and full styling. A truck with a driver, prepared for the parade.

When things happen

There is a limited number of vehicles and they go early. This is the rhythm of the year.

March
Booking opens

We start taking bookings. This is when the most configurations are still available.
June
Usually sold out

By the end of June the vehicles are normally booked. After that it is a question of cancellations.
Early July
Registration deadline

The last date to register your group with Copenhagen Pride. The exact date is set by the organiser — we keep track and tell you.
August
The parade

We collect, set up, drive the route and pack down again.

Registration and sponsorship

Registration goes through Copenhagen Pride, not through us. It is handled in the organiser's own system.

If you want your logo or brand on the vehicle, the organiser requires a sponsorship agreement. That is a separate cost and it does not go to us.

We take the registration and the contact with the organiser together with you. Say so when you write and that part is handled.

The rules

The rules on vehicles, railings, sound levels and parade guides are set by Copenhagen Pride and they change from year to year.

We do not reproduce them here. An out-of-date rule is worse than no rule. Read the current rules at the organiser. If you are unsure what they mean for your vehicle, write — we have read them every year since we started.

Rules for participation at Copenhagen Pride

Safety

People should be able to celebrate on the vehicle without thinking about anything else. Every vehicle is set up with metal barriers all the way round, a fire extinguisher, a first aid kit and proper places to get on and off.

Safety is standard. It is not an add-on.

Questions

When should we book a parade truck for Copenhagen Pride?

Book in March. The vehicles are usually gone by the end of June, and the deadline to register your group with Copenhagen Pride falls in early July. If you are late, write anyway — we know what is left.

How many people fit on a parade truck?

Up to 45. We recommend 30. That leaves room to dance, and it makes for a better day.

Do we have to pay to take part in the parade?

Yes, in two places. The truck starts at DKK 58,500 excl. VAT, the cargo bike at DKK 5,000 excl. VAT. On top of that Copenhagen Pride requires a sponsorship agreement if you want your brand on the vehicle — historically around DKK 75,000, and it goes to the organiser, not to us. We help get that agreement in place.

Do you help with the registration?

Yes. We take the registration and the contact with the organiser together with you.

What if there are too few of us for a truck?

Then the cargo bike is the answer. The sound bike plays to all sides and covers a group of up to 80 people, and the supply bike carries the drinks. We usually send one of each.
